Noise reduction, particle filtration.
These ATOMUFFLER silencers from Allied Witan Company (ALWITCO) are fitted with a two-stage filter element which captures solid particles, thereby extending their service life and providing better noise reduction.
They were developed to treat the exhaust of air dryers by adsorption, where the air is loaded with moisture and desiccant dust.
The first filtration stage captures solid particles in order to improve and optimize the passage of air through the second stage which performs noise reduction.
These silencers have an exhaust valve that opens if the air flow is obstructed by the accumulation of solid particles. This valve directs the air flow directly to the atmosphere avoiding any damage to the structure of the muffler.
When replacing the desiccant in an adsorption dryer, it is recommended to wait a few days before installing a new silencer. This is so as to "purge" the desiccant from the excess of particles generated during filling of the tanks and to avoid premature saturation of the filter element of the silencer.
This silencer is recommended for pressures up to 12bar.
