For many industries, especially those in the food industry, it is imperative to know the residual content of hydrocarbons present in the compressed air. These vapors, called C.O.V. (volatile organic compounds), must remain below the threshold compatible with the standards imposed for compressed air intended for industrial food use or to come into contact with food during manufacturing, processing or packaging.
The tolerated quantities are extremely small (less than 0.01 mg of oil per m3 of air) and cannot be reliably measured by reagent tubes.
COVAMAT series analyzers use a photo-ionization sensor which provides very high measurement accuracy and long-term stability.
