European Directive F-Gas: QUID ?

The F-Gas regulation is a European directive aimed at limiting the use of gases with a high Global Warming Potential (GWP).

R410A and R134A are refrigerants with a high GWP. It was therefore decided from 2015 to apply a smooth transition away from these refrigerants with a high GWP.

Since 2015, the production quotas for F-Gas refrigerants have fallen by 63%, generating a constant price increase.

By 2021, the quotas will not exceed 45% of their initial level, making them harder to find and also more expensive.

PARTENAIR is committed to following this energy transition and will soon be offering its new range of refrigeration dryers that contribute to the fight against global warming.

The GWP (Global Warming Potential) is a conversion factor that makes it possible to compare the influence of different greenhouse gases on the climate system.

Refrigerants with a GWP greater than 2500 have been banned from January 2020, while others such as R410A (GWP 2088) and R134A (GWP 1430) will see their availability limited by the reduction in production quotas.

Our new EVO-BLUE air dryers are equipped with R513A gas with a GWP of only 631 !
