These dryers are made up of small hollow fibers made of a temperature and pressure resistant polymeric material (called membranes). The inner surface of these hollow fibers is coated with an ultra-thin layer of a polymer which performs the real separation between air and water vapor. This coating lets water pass more than 20,000 times more easily than air. Each dryer is made up of a bundle containing hundreds, even thousands (depending on the flow to be treated) of membranes linked at each end by resin and inserted in a rigid tube. This technology allows dew points to be reached in a range between + 5 ° C and -40 ° C under pressure.
